After nearly nine actual months of speculation, Kylie Jenner has had a baby girl with her boyfriend, rapper Travis Scott. The 20-year-old posted a video, called “To Our Daughter” on her Instagram on Sunday, a few hours before before Super Bowl kick-off, confirming the February 1 birth of her daughter, whose name she has so far not revealed. The 11-and-a-half minute video documenting her pregnancy, made by her friend Tyler Ross, features commentary from friends including Jordyn Woods as well as a few words from Kylie herself.
“Whatever your name is going to be, this is how I found out about you,” Woods began. “Your mother and I were living our lives, having fun; she met your father, and they just hit it off—chemistry. One day, I was in your mom’s bathroom with her, and she took a little test.”
The video, which then goes into footage of Jenner’s doctor appointments, trips to get cheeseburgers, Kylie’s baby shower, pans of baby shoes and clothes, and footage of Kylie meeting her niece Chicago. There is also a still of her rubbing pregnant bellies with her sister, Khloé Kardashian. Then, finally there comes video of Kylie in the hospital with family in the room, and audio of the baby’s birth.
For months now, there have been rumors of Jenner’s pregnancy, but when both Kim and Khloé Kardashian announced they were pregnant with their babies, no confirmation came from the youngest sister. Jenner posted an explanation for her secrecy, saying that she “knew her baby would feel every stress and every emotion” if she had shared her news with her fans earlier.
“When you’re 20 years old, you’re just figuring out your life; you don’t know what you want,” Woods said. “You’re an indecisive teenager. You’re just becoming an adult. There’s one thing that your mom knew for sure, and that was you.”
